Movement Exhibition

A gallery event featuring several creations woven together in a single space.

In the past few years, Shirly has been interested in expanding the boundaries between performers and audiences, hosting events that invite the spectators to immerse themselves in them.

In this event, Shirly placed dancers in a museum space as exhibition material. The audience and the performers took part in the “Act of Art.” The audience could follow the dancers, make independent choices, and influence the development of the artistic experience.

Prologue

A dance and performance piece that deals with the desire for connection and the tragedy of not being able to contain it.

The work was created specifically for the event, and was interwoven into with the space, the other exhibitsworks, and the audience.

From the program:

“The dancers experience and share emotions with their bodies. They are the characters of the story but also the artistic material. In fact, they become the art itself, But unlike a statue, photo, or video, performance art imitates life in the sense that the present moment is fleeting. Each choice creates a different reality and collapses the rest of the infinite possibilities. All other options disappear, As if what we chose was were the only way all along.”
