CLOSE UP

Close Up is a site-specific creation about  empathy, loneliness, and the need to connect.

The work was performed in a public elevator while being filmed and projected on a screen outside the elevator doors. The audience could choose between experiencing the work up close and watching it from afar. Four cameras were used, each capturing a different perspective and creating a “broken collage” of the performance.

A familiar everyday experience turns into a sensitive and unique encounter between performer and audience.

Premiered in November 2022 at the Joining Tools Festival, Tel Aviv-Jaffa.

The creation received support from Tzavta Theater.
