“He who drives straight on a winding road should not be surprised if he falls into the abyss”
Zohar, a 30-year-old woman loses control of her life and is committed to a closed psychiatric ward. Now she has a rare opportunity: She is given 50 minutes to convince the medical board that she is ready to be released from the hospital and be able to raise her four-year-old son, Yotam.
The play raises the question of who is considered “sane” in a society based on values of individualism, competition, and greed. Also, it criticizes the way modern medicine treats mental illnesses.
Premiered at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque for members of The Israeli Association for Mental Health.
Performed monthly at “Hasimta” Theater, Tel Aviv-Jaffa, 2017-2019.

* The play was nominated for three media awards of the gay community 2015, in the best play category, as well as two nominations in the best actress category for Ilana Kiviti and Liel Primer.
The original Israeli production earned Yonatan Calderon a nomination for the Playwright of the Year Award at the Golden Hedgehog Fringe Awards for 2016.
